Ollie Sizer is an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable young man, already an expert in the areas of lighting, sound and general tech for theatre and concert venues. 

He has been incredibly helpful and generous with his time, for all of us here at Cross Hands Hall And Cinema. Ollie came along to volunteer with us for a comedy night and made some very helpful observations regarding our equipment. 

Through grant funding, and Ollie’s guidance we were able to replace our old halogen lights with new LED ones. As well as replacing our sound and lighting desks. Applying for grant funding is a very time consuming task, but thanks to Ollie, he was able to recommend the new equipment we needed, including cabling, all brackets and several other items needed for this huge task. 

He also pointed us to exactly where we might be able to obtain these particular items. Our grant funding was successful, greatly to do with Ollie, providing us with accurate and timely information.


Then when the lights etc arrived, and an electrician was booked for installation (over 3 days.) Ollie committed to being here the whole time, voluntarily, so the electrician, would know exactly where all the lights should go, and how they should be aimed/focused in the auditorium. He worked for hours, early mornings, to late in the night, to see the job through to completion. 

Ollie has helped us at several of our live events, and his help has been immeasurable. He has a great attitude, being willing to teach those (much older than him!) how the new lighting desks etc work, and how the new system can be best used, with the very best results. 

Ollie is just 16 years old, but has a knowledge and attitude way beyond his years. Theatre/concert tech work is in his blood! He stays for hours, and is always willing to come in and help for a long as it takes to provide the best, service/event possible. 

He makes excellent suggestions re all aspects of running a hall/theatre. Including advice about fire safety, power efficiency and opportunities for other upgrades and improvements. 

He is a remarkable young man, and would be an asset to any venue that would be in the privileged position of making use of Ollie’s immense expertise and attitude.
